Family-Friendly Things to do in Bali
There’s more to Bali than gorgeous beaches and fun water activities. If you’re planning your Bali vacation with the kids, don’t forget to visit these fantastic (and educational!) attractions:
Bali Safari & Marine Park
The Bali Safari & Marine Park is one of Gianyar regency’s most popular tourist attractions. It’s located near Lebih beach. The natural park boasts of over 300 species of animals. Kids can ride the elephants, go on a safari adventure or watch the dolphin show. The facility offers tons of activities for kids and kids at heart. Visitors are allowed to take pictures of the animals provided that some precautions are observed.
If your kids love water parks then all roads lead to Waterbom Park and Spa! This 3.8 hectares of lush, tropical paradise features towering water slides, water blasters, and Euro Bungee! After all the heart-pounding water activities, lounge around poolside in picturesque gazebos, hang out at the entertainment section or get Digi photos as souvenirs. The Waterbom Park is accessible too. The facility sits between the Kuta center and Discovery shopping mall.
Let the little ones explore the lush jungle of Ubud! This educational trip brings the natural beauty of Indonesian greeneries just within your reach. Kids are welcome to pet and feed the animals. They’ll get to know bugs and insects that exist only within the region’s very complex ecosystem. For the grown-ups, why not head to the local tea shops and try Kopi Luwak? Kopi Luwak is a specialty coffee made from coffee beans defecated by the Asian palm civet. And speaking of Asian palm civet, guests are welcome to feed the animals that “processed” the coffee too!
The Monkey Forest
The Monkey forest is located in a natural reserve in Ubud right in the middle of Ubud. As the name implies, the place is mainly inhabited by monkeys of different species. For just 20,000 rupiahs or $2, you can buy bananas and feed the monkeys with the kids! Primates roam freely within the reserve. In fact, monkeys walk with visitors who are making their way through the forest. At the heart of the sanctuary is a breathtaking temple.
Popular beaches in Bali have their own playgrounds for children. But Kuta’s Beach Walk area is an entertainment, shopping and culinary mecca in one. It has trendy shops and restaurants for grownups to explore. Meanwhile, the kids can check out the arcade game area or engage in various water activities nearby.
