The Harvest made its mark in the local biz as a cake shop but this bakery also offers a variation of sweet and savory options. You can order customized cakes for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions as well as tiramisu, pannacotta, fudge brownies and so much more. The Harvest also serves up warm and cold drinks including teas, coffee, and fruit juices. Mini cupcakes and cookies are also baked fresh daily. #2 Biku 

Biku is one of the most popular restaurants on the island. The shop is a refurbished joglo teak house with a main dining hall and tea lounge. In tune with the traditional Indonesian style, the interiors are furnished with antiques and ancient-looking books. Guests are welcome to check out the displays too.

Biku offers an array of sweets and pastries including homemade pies, sorbets, ice cream and super moist cakes. We recommend the Pavlova, a light, meringue filled with generous slivers of fresh strawberries, mango, passion fruit, and strawberry coulis, yum! Biku is also loved for its chocolate mousse, cheesecake and banoffee pies. The desserts are pretty affordable too. You can get the cake of the day for only Rp28,000.

#3 Ixora Cakes

Ixora Cakes is one of the most established cake shops on the island. The bakery was opened in the late 90s by a couple of expats who made Bali their permanent home. Ixora Cakes brings together classic European pastry making with traditional Indonesian baking methods to create an impressive selection of artisanal cakes in every shape and size imaginable!

Ixora Cakes’ bestselling cakes include layered birthday and wedding cakes, butter cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, mud cake and carrot cake. The bakery also serves up gluten-free bread and sweet pastries.

#4 Monsieur Spoon

Monsieur Spoon is a French patisserie and bakery that offers classic French cakes, pastries, bread, and macaroons. This fabulous patisserie is one of the best cake shops in the island, crafting artisanal cakes, lemon meringue, Galette des Rois or “King Cake,” Kouign-amann puff pastry and much more.

Ruth’s Desserts is an unassuming cake shop and café located along the Ngurah Rai bypass in Sanur. But once you step inside, you are treated to a colorful variety of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, brownies and other scrumptious treats displayed in glass showcases. Each sweet treat is made lovingly from scratch. In fact, all the sweet treats at Ruth’s Desserts are made from fresh, local fruits, berries, cold pressed oils, natural spices and creams. Caramel Patisserie & Café is a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth! Founded by Indonesian pastry chefs, Jessica Lestariana, and Hermawan Tanjung, Caramel specializes artisanal, homemade cakes and pastries made from local ingredients. The shop also serves up hot and cold drinks, including a rum raisin affogato, French pressed brews and indulgent Vietnamese drips with caramel milk.

Caramel Patisserie & Café features two levels; the first one is dedicated to cakes. All the cakes are displayed in glass showcases and come in an array of flavors. #7 Chef Cakes Bakery

Chef Cakes Bakery was borne from the owner’s passion for cake making. This homey cake and pastry shop started out as a small bakery that sold traditional bread and classic chocolate cake.
