The little sibling event to the world-class Ubud Writers & Readers Festival may be just a babe, but the organizers know their stuff and attract some of the biggest names in the culinary world.

This year the festival will be ‘Going Local’ with the best of Indonesian produce being showcased by innovative chefs. Learn techniques, get ideas and get hands on with Indonesian chefs, restauranteurs, food professionals, and culinary icons from around the world.

Workshops, demos, tastings, tours, markets and lots more entertainment will showcase Indonesian food using the amazing variety of fresh local produce.

If you’re looking for event for the kiddos, Saturday the 28th of May will be a great day for family events. The day kicks off with a fruit carving competition at 9am followed by the Blue Ribbon Babi show (a showcase of local pigs) and then a pastry workshop for kids run by Monsieur Spoon.

Of course the market stalls at the Festival’s Hub, Taman Kuliner, are open all day for families to munch their way through everything from satay, Indian dishes, locally made chocolates, fabulous gelatos and much more!

On the 29th of May Mozaic Chef’s Degustation Table with Chris Salans will be held at Mozaic. You’ll watch as Chef Salans creates an incredible 6-course meal for you and shares his secrets, tips and tricks at the same time.

Mandapa at the Ritz Carlton Reserve will be hosting Chef Kevin Cherkas for Swig & Nibble by Cuca on May 27th. If you’ve been to the fabulous Cuca in Jimbaran, you won’t want to miss this!!

For an intimate peek into Indonesian cuisine, chef and food writer Petty Elliot is going to present an intimate dinner at the gorgeous Alila Ubud on May 27th.
